This is something we're currently working on for a bespoke customer. We're really loving it, so wanted to share it with you all.

We were contacted by a very funky couple, Salma and Simon, who'd spotted a very cool "stationery suite" (as the yanks call it!) designed by Adam Ramerth - Printed by Studio on Fire, Minneapolis. Respect.

Their take on a Run DMC poster used retro audio visuals like mix tapes and volume dials.

As we don't like to pinch others work, we agreed to doodle this save the date card - using the audio theme and a vibrant colour way.

We've been really lucky the last couple of weeks, to work with customers who have a keen eye for great design. We are very privileged to have printed a design by the very talented illustrator Zosienka.

Zosienka had produced this stunning masterpiece for two (very lucky) friends, who are tying the knot.

We letterpressed the design using navy ink on ivory 350GSM cotton paper.

2010 Bestseller

After a bit of totting up, we have discovered that our bestselling "off the rack" range for 2010 was Vintage Perfume.

Art Deco and vintage was a massive USA export to the UK wedding stationery market. For the fashion-forward couple looking for a bygone era trendy twist to their wedding events, the vintage theme was their best match.  2011 will see this trend go forth with contrasting colors and patterns with nostalgic icons, while the 1970's-inspired art deco designs will feature intricate, soft pastel colorized floral patterns and designs.

Although we are overhauling some of our ranges for 2011, the defiant popularity of the vintage perfume range means it will be sticking around, with a couple of subtle tweaks...

A new vintage design - Duck Egg!

We receive alot of orders and enquiries for our exisiting 'Perfume' invitation. We have adapted this design and gone for a vintage duck egg colour. We have bonded the invite and rsvp together with a coordinating belly band for a very luxurious finish. This design can be found for sale on our website in the vintage category. My Deer!

Richard and I had a wonderful weekend break in the magic New Forest. During our stay we visited The New Forest National Park to see all the animals. The park at Longdown, near Ashurst, is a great attraction which  gives you the opportunity to mix with both native and non-native animals including owls, wild boar, wolves and otters. My favourite was this little fellow and his family.

The deer were so great, I just had to design an invite!

First off the Press

MyWeddingz is soon to launch a Letterpress stationery range. Using this almost extinct method gives you a fantastic vintage debossed effect, each item is truly unique.

The first letterpress was invented by Johanes Gutenberg in the 1400's. From the mid-15th century until the 19th century, letterpress was the normal method of printing posters and books. It remained in wide use until the second half of the 20th century.

This is the pilot Save the Date card. It is made from 100% recycled cotton rag paper, hemp twine and printed with gold. It comes with a coordinating envelope pressed with 'Good News'

Orchid Inspired Wedding Invitations

I am always looking for creative inspiration for my calligraphy! I love to feed my free spirit and stimulate my higher chakras! Orchids to the answer this day!

I recently attended the "Orchid Show 2008: Storybook Classics" at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The orchids were spectacular and displayed in every species imaginable. The colors were vibrant and some simply breathtaking. From corsage orchids to rare beauties, the show hosted a huge selection. Tucked playfully among the many exotic orchids were darling imaginative story boards and artfully crafted props from fairy tale classics like "Jack and the Beanstalk", "The Secret Garden" and "The Tale of Peter Rabbit".

At the end of my flowery tour, I snapped a great photo of one of my favorite orchids. Its soft ruffled borders and purple hues reminded me of the flowing ruffles of a magnificent wedding dress train. And the many orchid colors -- for the bridesmaids and your wedding theme, of course! I left the show feeling quite romantic! What woman doesn't love the heavenly aroma of fresh flowers and a stroll through a magical secret garden?

~Working with Michelle was such a joy. She and Eric were planning a small, intimate wedding. And she had this unique idea that she wanted for their wedding invitations. She said to me, “Dayna, I want my wedding invitations to look like a personalized note to each one of our guests.” So with that direction, I created their wedding invitations in the fashion of a personalized handwritten note. I suggested my spencerian calligraphy with a few of my romantic flourishes, swashes and embellishments for a simple, elegant look. Next, each invitation was addressed to each guest! I also suggested a two letter monogram for the top of the invitation to coordinate with the handwritten wedding invitation text. We combined Michelle and Eric for their “ME” monogram. Michelle asked if she could submit my monogram design to Toppers With Glitz, and they created a fabulous cake topper. What a way to carry out a wedding theme! Love it! Don’t you? Très chic! Fabu!
